    1. I am often disappointed when I hear Christians lash against Muslims or Islam or Palestinians without the slightest clue to any of their history or circumstances These Christians lack a relevant context from which they can judge or criticize The book, Secret Believers, sheds light on what s going on in the Middle East, especially with Muslims who are coming to Isa Christ It provides a perspective that allows those of us who are disconnected from Islamic culture to put ourselves in a Muslim s shoe [...]

    2. Secret Believers is a truly challenging and heartrending book about the plight of Muslim background believers in Islamic countries Since sharia law considers conversion to Christianity punishable by death, these believers face unimaginable disgrace, ostracism, difficulty and danger should they convert, and receiving baptism is like putting a price on your own head This book explores their situation their extreme vulnerability and their staggering, inspiring courage through a lightly fictionalise [...]

    3. What an amazing, challenging book Open this book and meet Christians who are courageous in the face of persecution Butros, a Christian man with a heart for the church Ahmed, Mustafa and Hassan, devout Muslims until their hearts are changed by the Truth of Scripture They flee their hometowns but soon become passionate about sharing the gospel Salima, a rich young woman loses everything when she falls in love with Jesus How can Christianity flourish the the face of Sharia law How can Christ s love [...]

    4. Inspiring, refreshing, and motivating Secret Believers tells the story of secret Christians in the Middle East The majority of the book narrates the stories of several different Muslims and what brought them all to Christ The last quarter is of a reflection on how Western Christians view Muslims and how we can pray and love them It is a simple, yet eye opening read Despite a few dated references, I think this book is even applicable today than when it was published It is a reminder of our bro [...]

    5. Brother Andrew lives on the cutting edge of Christianity going into places in the world where Christians are persecuted It gets my blood pumping and seems like really living the gospel Why is it that the rest of us Christians don t do likewise

    6. I found this book inspirational and fascinating It tells of the spiritual journey and struggles of several Muslims who convert to Christianity inside a Muslim nation It is a story of courage and faith that, as an American Christian, humbled me that we have so much in freedom that we take for granted It also challenged my own faith if faced with such daunting threats and troubles as these new Christians faced, how would we American Christians fare This book made me think about Muslims in a differ [...]

    7. I just re read this book I am not even sure how many times I have read itis has got to be number 3 or 4 I love the honesty of the characters or people in the book and how their lives are intertwined Also, it is imperative that North American Christians are aware of the reality facing our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world Further, we must think long and hard about what it means to be Christians in a world that is becoming increasing influenced by Islam All that being said, the beli [...]

    8. This book is 10 years old, but the stories in it are repeated in the Middle East daily Muslims decide to follow Isa Jesus and find love, joy, and true peace However, they usually pay a very high price for changing their allegiance from the joyless rules of Islam to a relationship with Jesus This book chronicles some of the lives of these braves Christians Brother Andrew challenges the readers to react with God s love rather than fear and hate.

    9. We need books like this one to show us what God is doing around the world, to show us what it really is like to be a religious minority and to remind us that the West not always is the best example on Christian living. It is a very strong call for prayer and help for the all the Christians in the Muslim world.

    10. A compelling account of the challenges faced by Christians in Islamic countries, both those born into Christianity and those who have converted But the strength lies in the answers given to these challenges love, forgiveness, sacrifice, etc in other words, the example of Christ Would that we Christians in America would be broken and burdened for Muslims, and less focused on justice, revenge, and fear The solution starts on our knees, in our communities, and in our willingness to reach abroad.

    11. I enjoyed this book but it was hard to read at times with the jumping back and forth between people Took me half the book to figure out who was who and then it ended and left me wanting to hear about them.

    12. The religion of Islam has alot of explaining to do if they think this kind of behaviour is acceptable and authorized by their god Allah Of course Christianity has a similar history of horror against those who disagree with their faith and deity However, the problem is Christians are often bad because they don t understand or even try to comprehend their scriptures the Bible and Muslim s are often good because they don t fully comprehend their scriptures the Quran I know i ve read them both. And t [...]

    13. This book records the experiences of several secret believers who, because of their belief in Isa Arabic for Jesus , are forced to have church in secret locations in the Muslim dominated middle east where Sharia law overrides constitutional law This book is definitely an eye opener Muslim converts to Christianity face daily persecution and martyrdom because of their new faith These Muslim background believers are specifically targeted by the Muslim brotherhood who assert their dogmatic beliefs v [...]

    14. Through real stories of Arabs in the Middle East with identities protected we learn about Arab culture, the state of the Church, various interpretations of Islam, and unique challenges of CBBs Christian background Believers in Jesus versus MBBs Muslim background Believer in Jesus After learning about this part of the Body of Christ, a rebuke is given to Christians in the West for seeing Muslims as enemies and for praying contrary to how the Holy Spirit and Christians in the Middle East are pray [...]

    15. Oh my gosh This book is absolutely AMAZING People don t think of life on the line persecution as something that s going on RIGHT NOW But, woa man, reality check I didn t know Muslims carved up MBB s x Muslims Believers The book stirs one up enough to apply to the YWAM base in Israel However, that is generally Brother Andrew s way of getting peoples attention writing very stirring, and even disturbing books disturbing in a positive way The beginning of the book introduces a young x Muslim man who [...]

    16. A powerful book stating clearly the suffering of Christians in the Middle East and offering challenges that do not provoke hate but love for Muslims This list of challenges in part 2 of the book promote life changing alternatives to hate Challenge 1 Do we view Muslims as enemies or are we seeking to win them to Christ Challenge 2 Are we going to seek revenge when we re attacked Should we not offer forgiveness instead Challenge 3 What would happen if we accepted the challenge of Islam by striving [...]

    17. Besides bringing a new and interesting worldview into focus due to the fact that it is an international book, Secret Believers also gave me some perspective in my own life Most of the first world problems I complain about every day are absolutely pathetic when compared to the real life issues that persecuted Christians face constantly I am challenged by the faith of these brothers and sisters as they refuse to deny that Christ is the Son of God and that the Bible is true, even in the face of tot [...]

    18. 19. I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone that needs to see what God is doing in our world through missionaries that are willing to go where He leads In this book i couldn t believe that the missionaries would go to a countries that they knew if they got caught they could lose there life.I felt like i personally knew these people and actually cried when some of the church leaders were captured and tortured to eventually being killed. But over to see how such events didn t stop the work [...]

    20. This book is really important Every Christian should be aware of the situation of their brothers and sisters in bondage Islam is a big issue in the world, and most of us know nothing about it I didn t know anything about it until I read this book This book reconts the amazing true stories of several Christians living in an unnamed Muslim country We can t know their real names or what country they live in because this would put them in grave danger in fact, they already are in grave danger In man [...]

    21. This book, written in part by Brother Andrew, Chronicles a small core of Christian ministerial leadership in an Islamic nation. The book lays out well the difficulties and persecutions faced by Christians in a Muslim dominated culture The book is excellent at not attacking Islam, but giving a real portrayal of the persecution laid on Christians particularly those converted FROM Islam in Muslim dominated nations.Along with this portrayal is a call to Christians to take a stand, not a stand of mili [...]

    22. This was an incredibly insightful book into the lives of converts in the Middle East and the role the government and the Muslim Brotherhood played in their walks Their dedication and passion was encouraging to me and really put into perspective how little I have been challenged in my walk with Christ Brother Andrew also challenges the reader to love the Muslims and offer the opportunity that Christ offered to everyone The sacrifice of rejection or persecution is worth the price of someone s salv [...]

    23. Written in 2007, this book tells the story of Muslims who have converted to Christianity in the Middle East and beyond It is written in the form of a novel, with names and locations of the characters changed It is both an exciting and a touching read The author concludes by advising the Western church on how they can support these new believers The book is well written and fast paced, and the author has obvious affection for his subjects It provides a fascinating insight into a part of the world [...]

    24. Excellent book about Muslims in the Middle East who become Christians, what their life is like their testimonies, and their families It is a very encouraging book for a Christian to learn what the cost of following Christ is when you are surrounded by people who not only do not share your faith but are hostile to it It also offers hope to those in the West who have not had to deal with giving up everything to follow Christ It is a sobering warning to those who have not already given up everythin [...]

    25. Intense spiritual adventure as several Muslims in a small Islamic country turn to Christ against their families and their religion s orders All are persecuted, some to death But each grows in his or her faith and relationship to Christ A compilation of several true stories blended into a few characters to protect identities This book truly challenges the Christian believer to reconsider our relationship to our God and His mission to the Muslims.

    26. A great book by Brother Andrew God s Smuggler He tells a true story of life in an unnamed Muslim country for MBB s Muslim Background Believers or a Muslim who becomes a Christian For the safety of those involved his characters are a compilation of people, but telling real life situations The story was very compelling, drawing me in completely My heart is greatly softened to MBB s and Muslims seeking the Truth.

    27. This is a book on the persecution of Christians by Muslims The message in this book was profound and I agree with it completely, especially the part that Christians must return evil with good This is a message that is lost in Christendom today For that reason I needed to rate the book at a four, but really, especially in the first part of the book, it failed to captivate me and capture my enthusiasm It did improve towards the end and I am glad I read it.
